Welcome to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the Greatest Stadium in the World!
With a history, legacy and connection like no other, our modern Coliseum built in 1923 is based on the 2,000 year old Roman Colosseum located in Rome, Italy. Your STEM Tour of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum will allow you to go back in time and study the ancient world of emperors and gladiators. Along the way, you will learn the science and art behind such key architectural concepts as arch, vault and dome. From these basic concepts you will learn how bridges, tunnels, dams and cathedrals are constructed and how they became the foundation for the world famous Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
The central mission of the University of Southern California is the development of human beings and society as a whole through the cultivation and enrichment of the human mind and spirit.
